Adeus, Lisboa! (Dec 8, 2024)

We bought two tickets at Lisbon Oriente train station and left around 12:30 pm.  It's about 120 km (75 mi) from Lisbon to Tomar and including the stops, it took about two hours.

Lisbon Station platform

Tomar Station platform.  Not quite as grand but never judge a town by its station, I've learned.

We had to walk a little bit to our place, but I was blown away almost immediately when we left the station.  A town with a castle on the hill!  It seemed much closer than Lisbon's castle was.

Tomar Castle (from the next morning)

Street art

Sidewalk

We are staying in Thomar Story Guesthouse for the week.  First impression is great.

Our room until Friday (12/13).

Just going to grab some dinner tonight and walk around a bit.  Tomorrow should be fun.
