Saint Nicholas Church (Jan 9, 2025)

One other thing we did on the ninth was to visit the San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir Church.  The church was founded in the 13th century, and was refurbished in the 15th.  The interior was completed between 1690 and 1693 in Baroque fashion.  It's been described as the Sistine Chapel of Valencia, and I can certainly see why.  It's one of the most beautiful churches we've been in.

As nice as these pictures are, they really don't do the place justice.  Everywhere you look, there's something you didn't see before--a new detail, painting, or sculpture you missed.  It was well worth the ticket price of 22 EUR (22.88 USD)  for both of us.
